Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Excuse the noob questions, but I dont know much about wheel and tire sizing... I currently have a '99 996 NB with the "turbo look" wheels Front: 7.5J x 18 ET50 Rear: 10Jx18 ET65 I am running 225/40-18 Front, and 265/35-18 Rear. I am planning to change to the Carrera II 5-spoke wheels. Front: 8 x 18 ET50 Rear: 10 x 18 ET65 With the wider front, do I need a wider tire to match? Do I need to go with a wider rear tire if I change the fronts? Any fitment problems in the NB? Considering the Hankook Ventus V12 and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Thanks for the help!

POST 2Original post

You can still run factory size tires with the Carrera II wheels and they will fit just fine. Just bolt on and go.

POST 3Original post

POST 4Original post

You will be fine with the stck size. Many guys like a little more rubber and go 285/30 wih 225/40 or fill in the gap a bit with 235/40 with 275/35. Its up to you.
