Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have been updating since i got it but the sound system issue is perplexing, especially with PSE, since at that point its just adding in all the modern stuff, HD, Iphone, Pandora, Aux input....but rewiring a new amp is the major cost, if we can do this with mini amp plug and play
Leading evidence: 'perplexing, especially' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). The alpine amp you referred to may not help you much except you don't need to run RCA cables from the head unit to the amp.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Need help please. New to 2004 996 Cab with MOST and Bose and CD changer.
I believe i therefore have 2 amps, one in each trunk, but can find only the one in the frunk....
i want to replace CR230 with Alpine head unit the easiest way possible. I am looking for capabilities like pandora, HD radio, aux in front, etc, so I'm focused on Alpine CDE 148BT. Don't need big sound to drown out my sports exhaust, but want my SAT radio or Iphone music....
after many hours of thread searching, including all single DIN stuff, I found that i must replace HU and AMP due to MOST ring. And I can use original speakers as long as I change the subs to 2 ohm, and get the Autoleads PC2-95-4 connector so I can use the original wire... I get all that, BUT, and here is my question...when I went to Alpine dealer he showed me a new AMP from Alpine called KTP-445 mini AMP that just plugs directly into the HU.
So....does that mean that all I need to do is plug and play the mini amp and HU and somehow just connect the speakers? Maybe with Autoleads?
Did I miss something as to why everyone is getting separate AMPS, nothing in search on this mini amp option.?????....
Help please....
I don't have an answer, but I've been thinking about the same alpine unit. Although because of PSE, I rarely listen to the radio. But BT and Howard would be nice.
I think we both got the same models a few weeks back (silver 2044 C4s), you buy in Maryland? I have been updating since i got it but the sound system issue is perplexing, especially with PSE, since at that point its just adding in all the modern stuff, HD, Iphone, Pandora, Aux input....but rewiring a new amp is the major cost, if we can do this with mini amp plug and play
Very sweet. Love that seal grey.
I've got some upgrades planned.

Alpine - maybe
The autoleads will help you connect to the existing speaker wires so you will not need to run new wires. The alpine amp you referred to may not help you much except you don't need to run RCA cables from the head unit to the amp.
You only other option is to get an adapter that interfaces between an aftermarket system with the existing most amplifier such as Nav-Tv's most-hur-955:

Even though this is for the cayenne, someone on this forum has reported that it works with the 996. The major downside is cost.
thanks, so no rca cables, i can link into factory harness with Metra 70-1787 and then just hook the speakers into autoleads,. Connection from autoleads to HU/AMP is then seamless correct?
Ok, took everything apart. Front doors say "BOSE" but I cannot find any rear sub-woofers. Only two rear speakers for a total of 6 speakers in the car. Is this possible or do i need to look elsewhere for sub. it just isnt there behind the seats and there are no cut outs in the back. is that the difference between Bose and Hifi Bose?
