Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just installed a YellowSpeedRacing coilover fully adjustable suspension with ceramic brakes/rotors and lowered the car 1.3" Now there is a noise when the car is stationary and I turn the wheel left and right. anyone have any ideas?

POST 2Original post

Sounds like the springs are binding in the perches. It's an annoying sound, but it's harmless. What does that have to do with bump steer, though?

POST 3Original post

Agreed it is likely the springs dragging over the perches when steering. Makes annoying noise, makes the power steering work overtime, causes physical wear on the springs and perches, and impedes the self-centering action of the steering. You want to add spring seat bearings. The OEM parts have them built into the spring seats. Any well designed coilover strut will have these. We have them available if those are 2.25 inch springs on those coilovers.
