Should I use crossovers (even though the amp has high low pass switches) to separate the console and door speakers for ch1 and 2 and use channel 3 and 4 for the rear speakers and ch5 and 6 bridged for the subwoofer?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i have a porsche 2002 cabriolet 911 with a 6+1 speaker setup. I removed the Bose Hifi and put in a double din kenwood DNX 571hd. It went in great , but now want to add my infinity 6 channel amp. So I have tweeter mid's on the console, mid bass in the doors and mid tweeters in the rear side panels. Finally it has a subwoofer in the passenger footwell. (all factory). The question is what is the best set up to use all the six speakers and subwoofer with my 6 channel amp? I have already changed out the front console speakers and will want to change out the mid bass door speakers. Should I use crossovers (even though the amp has high low pass switches) to separate the console and door speakers for ch1 and 2 and use channel 3 and 4 for the rear speakers and ch5 and 6 bridged for the subwoofer? any help is appreciated.

POST 2Original post

I bought my set up from Rod at Car Audio Innovations (great service and set up by the way). I hooked the dash and door speakers to the amp and then bridged the 5 & 6 channel on the amp to run to the sub. The rear speakers are powered direct from the radio (not through the sub). They had a pre-wired plug for the radio that had wires for the rear speaker to run through the firewall to the splice into the rear speaker wires at the amp.

I will go that way. Thanks for the suggestion!]

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the speakers at the AMP, including the several wires going into the sub Amp which is located in front of the main amp?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
