I'll either end up with that one or go with the Porsche shifter if I decide to change the ****.

I'll soon be installing a B&M Short Shift and thinking about changing the shift ****.

Could we use a round stalk shift **** after some adjustments/additions to our piece?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'll soon be installing a B&M Short Shift and thinking about changing the shift ****. I have felt the B&M with the upgraded Porsche shift ***** that most people seem to have and it felt nice.
I also been a fan of round ***** and TechArt has one that is said to fit. Any feedback with a round **** AND the B&M shifter? Also anybody know of any nice shift ***** that will fit a Porsche/B&M shifter?
The other option is keep the stock shift **** but since it's kind of narrow I'm not sure it would be a good fit with the higher shift effort of the B&M.
TIA
I just installed the B&M and am looking desperately for a replacement shift ****.
To no avail. Every aftermarket **** I can find requires a round shifter stalk. It's making me crazy.
I would have loved the Ruf **** offered for the 993. (round polished aluminum). But it won't fit.
Can't seem to find any good photos of the Techart piece, and of course, it's $400.
All I want is a heavy aluminum ball, maybe anodized black.
Gert has the shift boot for 55 euros.
Anyone have any ideas?
Could we use a round stalk shift **** after some adjustments/additions to our piece?
thanks!
Yeah driving me crazy too.
I mean I could be happy with the Porsche shifters but I feel they are WAY overpriced and very common. The TechArt is nice too but is still pricey although I think I saw it for just over $200.
I looked at Momo ***** and they are nice and have a great selection but I can't get a straight answer if they fit Porsche shifters. Someone hear told me probably not but no definite answer.
I think it's a Porsche conspiracy to make us buy their *****....
Gert has the TechArt "ball" shifter modified with the boot to fit a 996 for E195. Have you already considered this one?
If you look at other aftermarket **** you still have to deal with modifying it to fit the boot so all-in any price saving will not be all that great.
I got the B&M and a Porsche shift **** at the same time. It is shorter and fatter than stock and has black leather with aluminum look trim and a little Porsche crest etched in the aluminum. There is an aluminum look ring around the base of the boot. It looks great and feels great with the B&M. I paid about $300 for it installed.
Regards,
Mike
David...Yes that is the TechArt I am considering.
I'll either end up with that one or go with the Porsche shifter if I decide to change the ****.
I may just install the B&M with the stock shifter and see how it is first and go from there.
I found a picture of Gerts shift **** setup.
It's perfect. Porsche boot, Techart ****.
It's on the front page of www.carnewal.com under new products.
I'm going to order one. Whats the drill with shipping costs and time?
I like the way it looks, just wondering if it sits a little lower than the OEM shifter?

P1CR, Gert's price includes shipping. if he has it in stock, usually about 3 bus. days to get it- DHL. you will get an invoice from DHL for US taxes/duty....can't remember the %, but it is minimal. ...max (993 guy with 996 shifter)
I would not assume that Eur.195 price includes the likely $36 DHL shipping, you might want to chuck in a few other bits (I mean are you DONE with the car now? ) to maximize the value.
The duty bill was only $45-50 on about a $1500 order from Carnewal I did once, I never received any charge on the last one of around $110. There is a threshold level just as when you go through Customs after a trip, then a percent on the amount above that.
That really is a very good price, if you did not know it you cannot even order the boot separate from the shifters in the US.
yes, Nick, I stand corrected. The price of some of the smaller/cheaper items that Gert has do not include shipping in the price.(the larger items actually state 'shipping included' beside the price) Sorry, max
Let me point out my $110 order plus $36 shipping would have been $200 plus shipping in the US--if anyone even had those particular parts for sale which they didn't.
