Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Install v1 & laser interecptor "parking assistant"' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'only person crazy enough' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install v1 & laser interecptor "parking assistant"' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I'm probably the only person crazy enough to powder coat a perfectly brand new set lol!

I'm leaning towards the Pioneer 80PRS headunit and replacing the Speakers/Amp to start with....may add a sub package later.

In the long-run, I may go back to the TechArt style front end.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After an extensive stint on the sidelines FLY996 is finally back on the road! Fresh out of the shop with the IMS/RMS upgrade, new clutch, Aasco lightweight flywheel and fluids change it feels good to be back and on Rennlist as well. Regarding the flywheel, it's a major trade-off of improved acceleration vs interior noise. For me this not a daily driver so I can put up with the extra noise but I can see how it would quickly become annoying for many. I definitely love the way it rev's now. Bringing it home yesterday on roads that I've driven many times previously, I had a big grin on my face as I felt the improved performance. I did not see the IMS bearing but was told by the shop that it was not pretty and I was lucky to bring it in when I did. The only thing I'm dealing with now is trying run out the flat spotting in the tires. When I first drove it the feel was like driving on bricks lol!! After about 100 miles I still have some small amount of vibration. Hopefully that will run out over time as the weather warms up. I was so excited I forgot to take pictures yesterday...here are some older ones....
Thanks Ed. I trust the TT has been treating you well!

Thanks Randy. We should hook up as well. Sounds like a NY/CT gathering might be in order soon.....
Hi Chao I see you have the ultimate beast.would love to check it out!
Thanks Red, good to see youre still active....you still have the Millennium??
[/QUOTE]
Yes, those BBS's did look nice. I'm probably the only person crazy enough to powder coat a perfectly brand new set lol! These Rennen's are a bit lighter tho. I remember feeling the improvement when I changed them out.
Thanks Capt. Short term, I'm planning a stereo upgrade....just started reading some of those threads (seems like they made that way more complex than it needed to be...). I'm leaning towards the Pioneer 80PRS headunit and replacing the Speakers/Amp to start with....may add a sub package later.
In the long-run, I may go back to the TechArt style front end. I think it fits the overall style of the car better and provides a little better downforce.
Lastly, my seats keep getting smaller....at some point I might be looking for something a little more friendlier
.
Rich, great to see you again - all the old timers seem to be coming out of the woodwork this week.
I still see photos of your car pass by on my screen saver.
I do still have the 996. She's still my pride and joy and looks as good as the day I bought her. I'm glad that you liked the photos.. I have to admit that I did get some really nice photos of your car and they're still up there among my favorites.
I'll attach a few more from my collection, as well as a photo showing the stablemate.
Thanks. I'm not around here as often as I used to be, but I do check in at least once a week to see what's going on. There are times that I feel that there are not too many of us 1st and second round 996 owners left around here... only a few of us bought and kept our cars. I'm starting to feel that I got left behind by holding onto my car... I love it and never saw a reason to trade it.
Glad to hear that you still have your ride and it's keeping good company. White MK1 with factory Aero is one of
the best
combinations for this car...would be hard to imagine giving that up. Thanks for the extra pic's...you got mad skills with the camera....
Thanks. The 996 aero is a great car and it really turns heads. I was out on a drive around town last weekend and I drove by a group of 3 teenage boys and heard a scream of "wow! Cool Porsche!" as I drove by... they don't know how much they made my day.
If you want full size versions of the pics let me know and I can email them to you.
Yep, the boys were rightyou have one cool and unique car. Thank you for the offerIll gladly take you up on that
definitely looking forward to it.
