Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I replaced all the hard lines with silicon vacuum hose and used Y and four way connections made for the silicon hose.

I took out the cannister and everything else and am waiting for more hose, also replacing the big hose and the 90 angled hose that goes from the air pump to the exhaust.
Leading evidence: 'Replace hard lines' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace big hose and the 90 angled hose' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I have replaced all of the vacuum hoses with nice new blue silicone hoses.

I used a kit from Value Pack (47380) that has all sorts of vacuum connections in it.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Any tips for getting to the vacuum cannister's vacuum line connection? The vacuum line to my cannister came off at the four (yes 4 not 3) way connection and my hands are way too big to get in there. I have taken the alternator out but still its really tight with many lines and cables running in front (back of the car) of the cannister. I could disassemble all the valves in front of the cannister but its not clear that that will buy me much room.
TIA !
I replaced all the hard lines with silicon vacuum hose and used Y and four way connections made for the silicon hose. Not much room but with the flex in the silicon hose it was much easier. My hard hose was very brittle and I didn't trust it. Hardest connection was to the rubber intake port since it is almost a blind connection.

How did you connect into the rubber intake? Mine has a hard line (male) that goes directly into the rubber intake (female) ? Did you get some sort of male-male connector so you could connect the new silicon vacuum hose to the rubber intake ?
Also did you take off the big hose that goes into the exhaust on the top of the engine (and that comes from the SAI pump) ? Mine is on really tight and the hose clamp is a B$%^ch.
I used a male-male connector. I used a kit from Value Pack (47380) that has all sorts of vacuum connections in it. Link is below.

I pulled off the hose and even removed the vacuum canister. I was glad I did because I found a stress crack starting at the mounting hole. It wasn't a bad leak but it did leak so I replaced it. I can see that a lot of the plastic bits and pieces on top of the engine will need PM replacement in time...they just get brittle with heat and time as the plasticizer evaporates out.
Also, don't get the thin wall silicon hose, use the .100" wall thickness silicone hose. I have used this hose for years on the Turbo and they get very hot in the engine compartment. Link below.

A good trick to get the hose firmly attached to the connections.

Great. Thanks. I had ordered silicone hose from Pelican so I'm going to use that. I took out the cannister and everything else and am waiting for more hose, also replacing the big hose and the 90 angled hose that goes from the air pump to the exhaust. They were hard and nasty. My cannister and the switches test out ok.
