Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have problems with my cruise control, so I have been reading a lot in this forum (still no mechanic I found out what the problem is, and how to get it to work. My question: When i disconnect the cable at the picture the cruise control works fine, but is it dangerous? What purpose of this thing? (see at the picture) Please answer

POST 3Original post

That is the clutch switch. Unhooking it will not hurt anything unless you press in the clutch while the cruise control is engaged. If you have the cruise control engaged and you press the clutch in, it will cause the engine to rev uncontrollably because the computer will not know the clutch is disengaged.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When i release the clutch the cruise control stops. Do you know how to fix it without disconnecting the clutch switch?

POST 5Original post

When you release the clutch, or when you depress the clutch? When you depress the clutch, the cruise control is supposed to stop.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The cruise control only works when its depressed with the clutch switch connected. When i release the clutch the cruise control dies and cannot be switched on again.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could it be that the wiring to the clutch switch is wrong? That i should switch position on the two cables?

POST 8Original post

Your picture is not public. Based on your description, it is possible that they are reversed.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The picture just showes the clutch switch connecter. So it will not be a problem by switching the cables? No melting, fire or burned fuses?
