Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Well I've had my car two weeks. When I got it the the average MPG's was 22. I'm down to 16.5. Not surprising as it's new to me.
I know they fluctuate based on how aggressive you drive, but what are you averaging?
Not quite apples to apples, but for daily driving, I get about 20mpg in my 986S. However, on the track, that drops to 4mpg. Aggressive driving
definitely
decreases mileage, but I tell you what: no matter how aggressively it feels like I'm driving on the street, it's more perception than actual, and that dip in mileage doesn't even come close; think the worst I've ever gotten on the street was 16mpg. High speed highway driving will decrease mileage, too; you'll get way worse mileage cruising at 90 than cruising at 50.
So, in summation, if you're getting crappy mileage, you're driving it right
Mine is a 997.2, so engine is a bit different, and official numbers suggest I should be at 18 city/26 highway. I however averages about 20mpg, and that's mix of city and highway, driving normally and not being a jerk.
I've seen many 996 owners here posted close to 30 mpg on the highway cruising, I have never gotten that. I drove from Atlanta to Washington DC this past Christmas, and 90% highway, I cruised at about 75 miles per hour and averaged exactly the official number, 26.1 mpg.
I get 24.5 / 19 on my 2002 . But I did not buy it for mileage I bought it to drive it . I had it for less than year and put almost 9000 miles . Mean while smiling all the way.
I must be doing it right...I average about 13-15 over the course of a full tank of gas, but I rarely get on the freeway and I've got a heavy right foot, plus I've only had the car for a month.
When I get on the freeway I'll see that number go up a bit.
My commute consists of 20 miles of rural country backroads typically 40-50 mph although close to a dozen 4 way stop intersections. I typically see 22-23 mpg. Was hoping for a bit better because my Honda S2000 with an EPA estimate range of 20-26 consistently got 26-27 on the same roads. My Targa has an EPA estimate range of 18-26 and would have liked to see it more towards the far end of that range.
