Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im frustrated in my efforts to source easily discernable torque specs for my 996 C4S. Ive found them in a table format (i.e., without an accompanying illustration) in my CD of the Factory Shop Manual, but the difficulty is in translating the written description of the part that the bolt attaches to an illustration that employs the same wording. A typical listing reads: Control arm on side member M12 x 1.5 120 (89) But forming a mental picture of exactly what that Control arm on side member looks like as Im under the car is challenging. Ive attached a page from a Toyota shop manual which illustrates the assembly, and has the tightening specs of each threaded fastener shown alongside it. Is there any document (possibly the Bentley Manual) that provides the 996 torque specs in a similar fashion? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Yes the Bentley manual is similar. It has a table next to a picture with part names and TQ values.

POST 3Original post

The Toyota diagrams are nice! I wish Porsche produced diagrams as clear - the ones in their workshop manuals not so much and some are really bad as well as inaccurate.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
