Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Later that night I found that the headlights didn't work!

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Let's see who can figure this one out...I went to turn off the ignition...couldn't get the key out. After much fiddling, it came out but it's dificult to get it in and dificult to turn. I then noticed that the air conditioner/ heater fan doesn't work. Later that night I found that the headlights didn't work! They illuminate in the "dim" mode (I don't know what you call that) but not bright enough to light up the road. I've checked all the fuses and they're good....Any idea's?

POST 2Original post

Sounds like the ignition switch itself is broke. Is "dim" mode just the "city" lights? If you turn on the headlights with the ignition off, just the city lights come on.

POST 3Original post

I dont recall what the exact cause / name of the problem but it is either a loose wire or something mechanical on the ignition switch is loose. It is very easy dealer fix and does not require replacing the ignition switch and is not expensive.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, Skymast...I guess I'll have to take it in. Yes, Patrick, just the city ligts come on.

POST 5Original post

It's mechanical, and it's in the ignition switch. 10 minute replacement at dealer.

POST 6Original post

I had my ignition replaced as well under warranty, had trouble gettin the key out
