This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently purchased an 03 C4S and found that although I am very happy with the car, the similarity in performance to my former 02 C2 has me longing for a turbo. Here is the deal, you guys tell me what you would do... 03 turbo in bound listing for $124k dealer will give it to me for $114k and will give me $79k for my car with 550 miles or.... Order my 04 to spec which will list at $118-$120 dealer will still give me $10k off but, he says when the 04 arrives in early August my car will be worth $73-$74k. Now if I wait for the 04 I am taking a $5-$6k loss but I am getting an 04 which is worth $5-$6 k more and because I will order less options, I will pay $4-$5k less(depending on price increase of my 04) So, it looks to me like I am better off in the 04. What do you guys think?? And, do you think I am getting a decent deal? -Lou

POST 2Original post

Lou, will the 04 Turbos come out this year with the NA cars, or will it follow in 04 as an o5 model. If so maybe you can't wait that long (emotionally, that is!) <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

POST 5Original post

NA stands for Normally Aspirated, or in other words not a turbo. There are rumors that 04 or 05 will be the last 996, making way for the 997. I was told by a PCNA exec that the 997 would debut in late 04 as a 05 model. Time will tell............... Cheers to All, Robert

However, the bigger dealerships may have June 03. I believe that even NA Porsche's will have a build date of June 03 for the 04 model year. Apparently, Porsche has limited alot of the 03 production and carried it over into 04

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all your responses. Prior to posting the question on this forum I was leaning towards the 04 but, now, I am going to try and get another $1000-$2000 out of the dealer and go with the 03. If I can get $12k off the turbo and he still gives me $79k, I think I would be foolish not to get the 03. Especially if waiting will cost me $7k and I will only get $10k of 04. I also think I want to enjoy the car all summer instead of waiting. -Lou
