Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking for a brake cotter pin that prevents the pad placement pin from backing out. Also, could use a few of the plastic trunk screws that hold the various shrouds in place. PM if you've got!

POST 2Original post

Just go to the closest dealer and get them. They won't be expensive, probably less than the cost to ship the used ones.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The cotter pin is part of a package that costs $70. I'll try Ace but the dealer prices are prohibitive.

POST 5Original post

Can you post a pic of this cotter pin? Want to see what is so special about it.

POST 6Original post

It's a cotter pin. A plain ol' cotter pin. That's $0.25 at Home Depot, or $70 from Porsche.

POST 7Original post

There was a time I was changing my pads and I forgot about the keeper pin.....knocked the steel dowel out without removing the pin. This was for a DE. Ended up using a brad nail to get me through the weekend. Bought a replacement from Suncoast. It was cheap.

POST 8Original post

Take the cotter pin from the other wheel, also a plastic screw and shop around for the same ones. Lots of places will have the same or similar. Presuming you have another vehicle to get about.
