Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was in need of an exhaust tip a few months ago and one of the Rennlisters had just installed a Fabspeed system so he sold me a pair for like $50 vs everywhere else wanting $200-$300 for them.

I'm thinking of trying a set with the black crest for a more neutral look.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Did a Bad Thing last week: put her through a full service car wash. Sucked off two of the plastic Porsche shield crests from the centre wheel hubs. The boys found one. Is there a source of just one of these shields? The dealership thinks I need to buy four.
I got new ones for Christmas, you're welcome to my old ones, just send me a PM. They're the original color crests from 2002, so a bit worn but better than nothing.
What! you went thru a car wash! ok your officially suspended from the site!.....LOL unless you had no other choice,i would be careful, most car washes will damage the finish, and cause potential issues like you experienced, try a waterless wash they really are pretty good when you are in a pinch.
If anyone else has a set of the plastic center caps to give away, I'm interested too. Mine are yellowed from some cheap clearcoat I put on them a few years ago.
I ordered a set from fleabay few days ago for my Boxster. They were $20 I think or maybe $25 and are being shipped from HK. I will report on them after I get them. From the pics, they looked good.
I love this kind of Rennlist activity of helping each other out. I was in need of an exhaust tip a few months ago and one of the Rennlisters had just installed a Fabspeed system so he sold me a pair for like $50 vs everywhere else wanting $200-$300 for them. Sure beats complaining about IMS issues.
Sorry to hijack a thread, but how's the fit/finish/quality of the Chinese center caps on eBay? I'm thinking of trying a set with the black crest for a more neutral look. Thanks in advance
I bought a set of the cheap center caps from eBay.... they sucked. Here's the deal:
The cheapo ones are made of a very brittle type of plastic. While installing them (they snap on), the little tabs on the back broke off of two of them. I contacted the vendor, who sent me replacements.
A few months later, I was at an autocross. After a driving session, I parked my car, went to get some Gatorade, and when I came back, found one of the caps on the ground next to the car. "Very odd" I thought to myself.
Then, drove another couple sessions, and parked for a bit. Came back to the car and another cap was on the ground next to the car!
Apparently, the heating and cooling cycles of the brakes caused the cheap plastic to expand and contract, again breaking off the tabs on the back.
So, I shelled out the bucks for a proper OEM set. They are made of a more flexible type of plastic. No problems with them at all.
(PS: DStutler, I'm back!
Thanks for your help... much appreciated! There was, indeed, a glitch in the system here.)
