I plan on cleaning/lubing the rails this weekend, but gave a gentle tug to get the flap up enough for my son and I to enjoy a wonderful, first drive for 2014.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi gurus, We managed to hit 63 degrees today so I decided to take my 2002 996 C4 Cabrio for the first time in 3 months. I made the mistake of closing the top while stopping at a store. When I went to open my top back up, the top opened all the way, but when the deck lid went to close, it stopped about an inch short of it's final position when the top is fully open. (So, the lid is sitting about an inch above the back of the car). Any pointers on what to check first ? I was hoping to take my son out this afternoon ! Ward

Hi Roadsession, Great diagnosis. I am experiencing the same issue you encountered. I plan on cleaning/lubing the rails this weekend, but gave a gentle tug to get the flap up enough for my son and I to enjoy a wonderful, first drive for 2014. Thanks again ! Ward
