Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Wowezerz. A gazillion miles perhaps? What site?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Go to http://brandywine.porschedealer.com/ click on New Cars. There are some other good deals on 2002 911's. This seemed to be the nicest equipted. Steve

POST 4Original post

What a deal! You could almost put it on eBay and make some money!

POST 5Original post

Very nice price..without any bargaining...WOW.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

$20k off on a new 911 car????

POST 7Original post

There's gotta be a catch somewhere I bet. The car's isn't even in (incoming) and its on sale. Inventory must be VERY high to wanna turn it that quick. BTW, I didn't think the factory was shipping 2002s still, is it?

POST 8Original post

PCNA is probably just moving excess / unallocated inventory around. At that price, its about about 8K under invoice. So here's the math: $80K Sticker - 12.8K Mark up = $67.2 Invoice. Subtract about 7.4K in depreciation / lack of marketability for yellow and there's your price of $59.8. Rare of a dealer to offer up the depreciation on the price! Someone should call.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I haven't Spoekn with anyone from the dealership because I'm not in the market for a new car. This is where I got my car and thought they were a great dealer. Had a great buying experience with them. I thought 20K off was worth bringing to everyones attention. Hope someone can take advantage of this

POST 10Original post

here is the story, just got off phone with the dealer. they have 4 996 coupes coming, 3 red/blk, 1 SY/blk. all are sold as USED cars, but never titled. all got less than 10k on it. the red one's are MSRP 75430 selling at 59887. the catch is: THESE ARE CARS USED IN PORSCHE DRIVING EXPERIENCE. they also have two boxsters and 7 boxster S 2002's coming. Box msrp at 50k selling at 41k, box S msrp at 58k selling at 50k. these were press cars used by journalists.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for looking into things further. That's very interesting.

POST 12Original post

OUCH! Wouldn't touch that with a 10' pole! Kinda reminds me of BMW's M-School in South Carolina, where the first words out of the instructor's mouth were "Remember, it's not your car, so don't worry!" 'Nuff said. -DT

POST 13Original post

Super work John. I read on this very forum that each mile on the track is about equivalent to 4 miles of street driving in terms of usage on the car. If that estimate is anywhere being correct, then these cars are the equivalent of buying a 2002 with roughly 40K on the ole odo and they don't seem quite the bargain anymore.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I wouldn't touch one of these either. It seemed attractive before we had all the details. Any deal that seems too good to be true usually is. Thought it was worth sharing anyway. John, Who did you speak with over there, ERIK????

POST 15Original post

Except for the 6 speed and color, that's almost exactly what I got new, for your "new" quoted price! Except mine hadn't been driven a few thousand miles by folks who weren't gonna keep the car! I do want to go to the Driving Experience to see what I can really do with my auto. I'm too scared to try it in mine.....yet!! What kind of warranty??

POST 16Original post

forgot whom i spoke with, but he was quick with the number and spec and sounded like he knew what he's talking about. it's not erik, i am pretty sure. warranty: remainder of factory 4yr/50k.

POST 17Original post

Hmmm! What's that old addage...."If it sounds too good to be true it probably is too good to be true."

POST 18Original post

I did PDE in Atlanta last year. I would not touch those cars either. They are definitely not run in according to the manual , instructor told me that running in is half a day of laps by the instructors, somehow I doubt they stick to the 4,000 rpm limit.

POST 19Original post

The speed yellow C-2's at PDE are the instructor cars. Driven hard but not abused. The student C-2's are what you want to avoid. A lady in my class destroyed a clutch in two days.

POST 20Original post

My wife fried the clutch in an M5 at BMW's M School in about five minutes! We were doing a team relay competition, all using the same car, standing start, through some hairpins, around a wet skidpad, then through a slalom after which we would jump out, tag the next team member, then off they go. As the smoke bellowed from the clutch, everyone on both teams held their stomachs and grimaced! The "competition" was a riot. Our team went first, and by the time the second team got the car, it was pretty much toast. We won!! -DT

POST 21Original post

P.S. My wife doesn't drive my P-car! How's this for a license: WFH8SIT Cheers, -DT
