Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The shifter will loosen up slightly over time, but I actually "added" about a 1/4-1/2 turn of play in the adjustment screw shortly after I installed my shifter.

One of the few mods I would never, ever change back to stock as it is such an improvement.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There have been many references to the B&M Shifters in recent e-mails. Forgive my ignorance, but would someone mind explainging what the advantage is, how it feels and perhaps post a few pictures of what it looks like.
Thanks.

You don't see it, because it is under your center console/factory 6 speed shifter. It is an internal not exterior part. It feels much better than stock and is a must. Basically, it makes a huge difference in the feel of your six speed shifter. It reduces the length to shift, makes it more precise, etc. I would not want to drive my car without it now that I have it. I just had it installed about a week or two ago.
Mine is on order from Foreign Affair Motorsports ($199). Should be here any day. Thanks to this board, my decision on short shifters was an easy one.
Can't wait to have it installed next week.
it makes shifty very precise, no slop in the stick. some find it a bit too tight/notchy, but just fine for me. i will never go back to stock. what a difference.
i only had mine for two weeks. it didn't or hasn't loosen up. it's not difficult to get in gear. when i say tight, i mean precise. once you drive it for a day, i doubt you will not like it.
I have to agree with Mooty-shifts are very precise like it's meant to shift that way. Goes into gear like it should. I always thought notchy meant hard to get into gear but with the B&M-it's not like that at all. Regards. Mike

I just installed my B&M tonight. I bought it from By Design for $225. There was a little mix up at By Design and it took a little longer to receive than I would have liked but Daniel assured me that he would make it up to me next time I ordered something (like he'll remember me).
Anyways, it took about 1.5 hours to install. It's pretty straightforward. I was impressed with the quality of the unit. I'm an engineer and would expect it to cost much more for the quantity they probably sell. I've only had time to drive it around the block but it feels very different from stock. The stock shifter felt rubbery and the throws were very long. The B&M feels precise and 'snicks' into gear with a definite, hard stop at the end of each gear travel. Can't wait to drive it more.
