Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there - Brand new to the forum and to my 2003 996 Carrera... My first order of business was to retrofit with the PCCM+, but sadly I just found out the previous owner cut the OEM wiring harness to install an aftermarket radio and sub -- so this project is dead in the water :{ So if anyone's in the market for one - I have the unit listed on Ebay at a nice discount! (I misplaced the outer packaging sleeve on the box, so I can't return to Suncoast unfortunately.) It's brand new - no items have been unpacked or removed. (not sure the rules here on whether or not I can put the link in this post?) Thanks!

got it thanks!

POST 4Original post

Why not just repair the harness? The ISO and mini-ISO connectors and pins are common and easy to find.

I wish this was within my comfort zone, but it's above my capability and I don't have a good reliable local expert to help with such a fix. The dealership said they could not (or didn't want to) fix the harness. I also believe our OEM system was the fiber optic bose system and there's now additional analog amp and speakers. maybe that's all irrelevant - I only have a minimal understanding of what's actually back there.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
