Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm asking because she'll be getting me to test drive more cars for her, but I want to make a fair comparison.

The colleague I was test driving it for thought it was great lol

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys,
I test drove the above today for a colleague. The car was a disaster, non matching paint, front wings out of alignment, moldy rear seats, split silencers, rusty door catches....
Anyway, the engine sounded healthy, the question is how big a performance difference would you expect to a 2003 c4s. I was expecting similar performance with the c4s being heavier even with a bigger engine (slightly). I drove it like a drive my own car and it felt significantly lacking in punch, didn't feel anywhere near as fast.
I'm asking because she'll be getting me to test drive more cars for her, but I want to make a fair comparison.
Cheers!
damn... I missed that, thanks Marc. The 98 cars are the worst, esp the Boxster. Porous blocks, d chunks, intermix.... I would pass on the 98... unless there is a good history (engine replacement...
). Maybe the pistonheads guys have a better feel for the 98 cars as it was a ROW car.
As for performance to the Mk2.... not much us ordinary guys can tell. The power may be down on earlier models... but they were also lighter.
I looked up 0-60 and quarter mile times on the 0-60 Times website (not always accurate). A 99 (no 98 posted) C2 Cab is 5.3 and 13.6. An 03 C4s is 4.5 and 12.9. A 99 C2 Coupe is 4.9 and 13.3.
Cool, thanks guys. I'll see what the next one is like, I was pretty sure it shouldn't be too different! This car was pretty bad, but I'm sure it'll sell, easily overlooked by someone who doesn't know cars. The colleague I was test driving it for thought it was great lol
Having just wasted money on a PPI im thinking it could be worth buying one with warranty from a good independent . Nice early car should be available for 11k . A lot of trash to sift through though .
