Definitely the freon is not the problem, it was the first thing it was checked.
Leading evidence: 'first thing it was checked' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'first thing it was checked' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuses and relays first' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Performed · outcome unconfirmed
Extracted the freon (required by law), filled with nitrogen, pressure tested for an hour, removed the nitrogen and filled with the correct amount of freon and oil.

Suggestion
I see you are in Finland - I think also that if the outside ambient temperature is below a certain temperature (I don't know it), the fans will not kick on even with the AC on (say running the defroster when it is freezing outside).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Did the search, and found a lot of talking about this subject. But did not found the answer to my problem.
My coolant fans runs always at speed 2 when I turn on the A/C. From what I have read, fan speed shoud be 1, when engine is in cool or normal operational temp.
I tryed to turn the fans on with durametric, nothing, relay pulls but fans wont work.
So, my fan speed 1 is dead, and needs to be fixed. But can this fault cause the A/C speed 2? Or is there something wrong with the A/C allso??
No fault codes found in aircon or engine systems.
I would start with the relays. It is unusual for both stage 1 fan resistors to be out at the same time. Mine works like this, AC on and the fans come on at low speed. Then driving around, engine temperature climbs and when it gets really warmed up, maybe the middle of the 0, then both switch to stage 2, high. Especially when the ambient temperature is >85 and I'm in city driving. Depending on year, not that unknown for an activation not working in Durametric.
Check these relays:
Is your ambient air temperature sensor in the right place in the front bumper? Try swapping 19 with 20, and 21 with 22. See if the low speed fans come on with the AC on. I don't think there is anything wrong with the AC, just the fans. If they run at stage 2 all the time with the AC on, then maybe also the fan resistors. Do a search on those.
Thanks DBJoe, I'll check those relays and resistors.
Will check the temp sensor also, my outside temp readings works, so I think that it's ok
Durametric drives the relays, I can hear them click.
I think the way it works is like this: DME is measuring outside temperature and cabin temperature all the time; when the AC is switched on, voltage goes to Stage 1 relay to kick the fans on low; then when heat builds, Stage 2 relay kicks in and higher voltage goes to the fans. Both fans have a resistor (there are 2, one for each fan), however I find it improbable that both resistors would be the problem. Thus going back to the relays for Stage 1. I see you are in Finland - I think also that if the outside ambient temperature is below a certain temperature (I don't know it), the fans will not kick on even with the AC on (say running the defroster when it is freezing outside). This is so the engine will heat up. Otherwise the engine will stay cold and not heat up to operating temperature. Thus the reason to check that point of commonality to both fans, the outside temp sensor.

Hi - I've been having simialr issues on my 2013 991.1 C4S.
Probably dumb question but not found the answer - is there just one fan each side that cools both A/C condenser and engine coolant radiator?
I been having some cooling fan & A/C issues - it's with the OPC now due to PADM fault and high-pressure fuel pump problem under warranty & would be good if they could nail both at the same time.
First off 2 years ago I start getting intermittent A/C with it not working and a bit of a high-pitched screeching sound when stuck in traffic. OPC unable to replicate the fault in the workshop and no fault codes.
Now OPC are telling me they can see engine cooling fan fault codes and they aren't working at all. I haven't noted misting up recently - but A/C probably doesn't need the fans at this time of year.
Anyway, I'm wondering if there is just one set of fans then this could be one and the same fault.
Any intel greatly appreciated.
Id say it’s the ballasts on the fans. Ether replace the whole fab pack or get handy with resistor pack and soldering iron for a few dollars and save a grand. Should be several threads on the fan resistors diy on here.
Thanks for replying - unfortunately OPC say it was debris in the fans having cleared it out they are running OK now. So big labour $$$ as non-warranty :-(
After you checked the fuses and relays, there is really only two possible issues:
- freon has been leakign out and there is pressure in the system
- ballast resistors are dead (front of the front tire and can be seen underneath the fender)
If it is low on freon it won't come on. A few years ago my AC wasn't blowing very cold. I took the car to a professional AC shop. Nothing unique about our AC system. Extracted the freon (required by law), filled with nitrogen, pressure tested for an hour, removed the nitrogen and filled with the correct amount of freon and oil. He added a small amount of ultraviolet stuff so a leak would be very easy to find. Now a few years afterwards, no leaks, blows very cold. It was worth it to have this done by a pro. Still, check the fuses and relays first.
Definitely the freon is not the problem, it was the first thing it was checked. Where is the ballast and resistors? in front of which tire? the driver side? or passenger side? do I have to remove the liner to see them? are they connected to the condenser fan assembly? I really appreciate your help
There is a drivers side radiator and fan, and a passenger side radiator and fan. So there is a drivers side resistor and passenger side resistor. The resistors are for low speed fans on both sides. When the fans run at high speed they get a full 12V. Just forward of the wheel liner on both sides, look up and you will see the resistors.

Oh I see, I think is the high speed not working on my vehicle. If i let the vehicle run normal until the temperature is reach, the low fan turns on, however when I turn the A/C I remember the high speed fan come on right away and is not do in it, in fact the fans are not turning on at all when I turn the A/C ON
