Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

What benefits should I expect by changing the cats from stock to 100 cell units?
Leading evidence: 'Replace cats' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace cats' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have an X-51 C4S with the factory sport exhaust. What benefits should I expect by changing the cats from stock to 100 cell units?
Thanks for your thoughts.
DAB.
Reduced back pressure and louder exhaust. I had a set of FVD 100 cell cats on my 996 before I sold it. I never dyno'ed the car with them on, so I don't know if it helped HP or not. I still have them, so if you're interested in them, e-mail me.

Karl,Did you have the 100 cell cats on only or did you have headers and mufflers also. How much are you looking for the used fvd 100 cell cats.Did you have any check engine light problems.
Thanks

Of course, I mostly ran them on the track and usually with the mufflers removed, so it would be a bit hard to tell.

From what I've heard this is very touchy territory...

I'm sure it voids the warranty on the emissions system, if the dealer finds out you're running them. I never had them tested in an emissions test, so I don't know whether they would pass or not. The good news is that it is only a 30 minute job to swap them, so you don't have to worry about it too much.
