Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

57 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

An exact fit with matching matte black finish, the tray trim bezel has openings for all four power window switches. A soft rubber liner in the tray base cleans easily and keeps hard items from sliding or rattling. A great upgrade for non-smokers; a great reward for those who quit. POST 2Original post

Wow great price! Sending this to the wife as it looks like a great stocking stuffer

POST 4Original post

If I didn't already have one, I'd buy yours, very good price.

POST 5Original post

I really like these in carbon, but they become to pricey in that material. However for $28, I can live without the carbon. Personal stocking stuffer!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for the support guys and gals Unfortunately no Savannah Beige at this time, but will keep you updated if it becomes in stock, it might be a good contrast to go with a black

POST 9Original post

For those that don't want plain black, they are very easy to paint.

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 10047562

Actually, I have SB interior with some black trim. At least I think it is black. I'd call it charcoal if it were me. Is that the same as what you are offering, or is there a black and a very dark grey? Thanks, keytohwy

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 10045891

Third for Savannah!

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What we offer is a Black one at that price, we can get Black-grey, Granite Grey, and Metal Grey if you would like but there a little more expensive. Sorry no Savannah yet, still looking though.

POST 13Original post

My interior is graphite gray and the console is CF. Which one would look best?

POST 14Original post

Thanks, but not for me, I like the clean uncluttered look.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Down South I would think Granite Grey would look good but on the other hand black really goes with anything. The choice would be up to you, PM me if you decide you want to go with the Granite Grey.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now back in stock !! Get one while you can and enjoy some extra storage for that spare change, cell phone, and other personal possessions you want close at hand. Click Here for more information.

I like the black in my SB interior. I put in a black 3 spoke steering wheel as well.

POST 18Original post

Lending some well deserved support. Placed order; showed up instantly - super easy install. Genuine Porsche part. Kudos ECS; no affiliation.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for the support and have a great holiday weekend.

POST 20Original post

Just Ordered mine. Just out of curiosity how deep is it? Will an iPhone fit? Thanks

POST 21Original post

I told my wife about this and an ECS box showed up a few days ago! Yay Christmas!

POST 22Original post

Quotes source post: 10094287

Haha nice. Only if I was married...

POST 23Original post

It's on my Christmas list. Will see if Santa delivered tomorrow!!

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hope Santa delivered you an ECS package over the holidays fd911 Thank you for the support Not sure of the exact dimensions, so maybe someone can chime in that has bought one and give us some insight on the iphone fitment.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for the support skiracer Sorry if anyone had any delays, we now have the Non-Smoker's Console Conversion Kit back in stock and ready to ship

POST 27Original post

It is indeed a very nice modification. Re the iPhone question, the iPhone 5 really does not fit - it is about an inch too long. I suspect there is the same issue with the iPhone 4.

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That it is, thank you for the support IronMan1842 I would assume the 4 will have the same issue as well, since it's actually about the same length. Not sure I would want it to lay flat though, would be sort of hard to get out then. Was there any width issues ?

POST 29Original post

Got mine but the plastic grain seems a poor match for my 2002. Much rougher than the rest of the console. The interior was improved a bit for '02 so perhaps this is only a perfect match for 99-01 Carreras. Or perhaps the console that came with full leather has an additional coating (it is not leather-covered)? Anyone else install black in a 2002 or later?

POST 30Original post

I noticed the same thing but after a week, I hardly notice the difference in grain. I also have a post '02 Carrera with a leather interior.

POST 31Original post

op do you offer anything like this for a 987?

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would suspect that you have a black console correct ? The part we're offering at this price is for the Black-Grey one. We do offer the Black one but it's going to be a little more expensive. For more information on the other colors we offer Click Here. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I will gladly answer them. We are currently looking into this but at this time we do not. We currently only have it for the 986 and 996. I will keep you posted if we come up with any further developments.

POST 34 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's an awesome gift idea. Also a perfect replacement for a broken ashtray or extra storage you've always wanted.

POST 35Original post

Gonzo, your silver paint job looks pretty good. A couple of coats with rattle-can?

POST 36Original post

Quotes source post: 10238624

Exactly. But I also finished with 3-4 coats of poly because of the location.

POST 37 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

We now have pictures of the Granite Grey Non-Smokers Shelf Console Kit. Pictures shown below For more information Click Here.

POST 38Original post

Has anyone successfully painted these to match Savanna Beige? Thanks!

POST 39Original post

Look cool. For a non-smoker the ash tray seems like wasted real estate. I've got a painted console from bumper plugs. I'll give a try at painting to match. If its decent, I'll post a picture.

POST 40 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That would be really cool, thank you.

POST 41Original post

Okay, I got mine. Any clues on how to get a smooth finish on this? It has a rough surface (by design).

POST 42 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

martinc Did you ever end up getting yours painted yet ?

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

We now have pictures of the Metal Grey Non-Smokers Shelf Kit. For more information and to view every color Click Here

POST 45Original post

May I ask the reason for the ~50% price increase on the black kit mentioned in the first post?

POST 46 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 10928955

The Black-Grey costs less because it is an unpainted textured plastic, so there is less involved in both parts and labor to produce it.

POST 47Original post

Do you carry the plug that replaces the lighter?

POST 48 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 10931841

We indeed do. For more information Click Here

POST 49Original post

Asking for this for Christmas and am trying to determine what color is correct. I have black full leather option code but I don't know if that means black for this product or one of the other colors that are to my untrained eye "black" but might be black-grey for this product. Help!

POST 50 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 10972142

You should need the all Black one in your 2002 Targa, the black-grey was discounted in '99.

POST 51 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The Genuine Porsche non-smoker's conversion kit turns your console ash tray into a handy storage bin, perfect for spare change, cell phone, and other personal possessions you want close at hand. Click Here for more information

POST 52Original post

Certainly a spiffy aftermarket item, but I'll pass. The ashtray is just right in which to store a roll of mints and my wife hasn't figured out how to work the lid. Also, when recharging my cellphone, it stores the lighter. And, who knows: the lighter might come in handy for torturing information from al Qaeda operatives I might come across at gas stations or welcome centers.

POST 55Original post

Quotes source post: 11165428

Agreed. I also replaced my lighter with a USB charger. Makes more sense and works great for my iPhone/iPad.

POST 56Original post

I also installed it; a 5 min job. However, if you want to change the lighter for an original 12v socket, you'll need a bit more patience.

POST 57 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All the parts included in this kit are genuine OE Porsche. Thanks for the feed back guys
