Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Clutch, flywheel and transmission serviced at 198k by previous owner, so I assume IMS replaced then, but cant confirm.

I change oil and filter every 5500 miles and service according to factory schedule.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yup! I'm almost to 176k. Original engine, IMS, and RMS. However, my 2nd gear synchro is starting to go so I have a transmission waiting for me at my tech's shop and it is getting install in August (soonest he can get to it). He is also doing the IMS, RMS, and clutch while we're there. My first major repair since I bought the car.
My indy's personal 996 is at 240K but he did do a rebuild on it. I think he said his IMS finally went somewhere in the 180K range & that's when he rebuilt the engine.
Thanks, I think they are the sport design wheels? 2 piece bbs. Previous owner had already put the gt3 skirts and rear spats on. Would like to do some cup bumper when i get the time.
Mine had over 200K on it 7 years ago when I picked up as a roller (cam chain tensioner broken and jammed between the sprocket, causing the chain to jump and bend some valves).
From a FB group today not my car.
"Hello all - I think Im winning here... I am based in Virginia and have a 1999 996 C4 daily driver - today I hit 400,000km (248,550 miles) Is there anyone else in this club with me? Before you ask... there have been no major issues under my ownership. Regular maintenance and oil changes - and every once and a while I stretch it out to 150mph with ease."
This weekend:
Picking up a White 2003 911 in Texas with 187,000 miles and driving it 1200 miles to Maryland.
Fly in, change the oil, hit the road. Get home, change the oil. Done. At least that's the plan
back when I was a bored DINK I wanted to deliver pizzas for a local place in my corvette to pass the time but those poor bastards make such crap money I just couldn't do it
I want that green 996!
My1999 Carrara C2 Silver on Black has 169000K miles on it now.
Original 3.4 engine and Tiptronic transmission
Just ever needed Vario cam Guides was the only engine out maintenance.
Still original mufflers exhaust and Wheels.
Most reliable 911 EVER!!!
.
my 2000 996 is at 103485 and still going strong!
The recent Blackstone analysis came back perfect with no signs of deterioration. I change oil and filter every 5500 miles and service according to factory schedule. I guess there's something to be said about regular and meticulous service!!
218k on my 2003 C2. I bought it cheap. Clutch, flywheel and transmission serviced at 198k by previous owner, so I assume IMS replaced then, but cant confirm. It probably has bore scoring and 1/4 quart oil usage every 1k miles. I drive the crap out of it for an hour 2x per week. Eventually Ill do a Slakker rebuild when it blows up, but for now, I pour my time and money into my 1970 911T
