Took it apart again fitted the new switch and tested again before reassembling everything and it worked.
Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

I replaced my switch when I upgraded to the full leather vents.

After a month or so of flaky headlights going off at the wrong time and then not coming on when they are suppose to.....I do a ton of research here, talk to an Indy and the local dealer and decide to try a DIY and replace the switch myself.
Test fit the original switch and it works of course

Went to bed and then the next morning checked the fuses, both we're good so I pulled it apart again - this time I test fit my old switch and low and behold it worked also.
After a month or so of flaky headlights going off at the wrong time and then not coming on when they are suppose to.....I do a ton of research here, talk to an Indy and the local dealer and decide to try a DIY and replace the switch myself. I certainly hope Hurdy and KK are watching as I took some heat for throwing in the towel prematurely a couple months ago with a large puddle of oil in the garage and having my car towed to an Indy (Flat6).
So I went down to my local Porsche dealer to purchase the switch since I wanted the car and really didn't want to wait to get one shipped from Suncoast/Pelican/AutoAtlanta. Got home, watched a DIY video from the net and went at it. Got the switch out after about 20 minutes or so, and no damage. Fitted the new switch and decided to test it to make sure it worked before putting it all back together. Worked great. Reassembled the switch and put it back into the dash and nothing. All lights work except the headlights. Took it apart again fitted the new switch and tested again before reassembling everything and it worked. Wrested with the assembly for about an hour to put it all back together and again - no high beams. Now into this simple DIY for about 3 hours labor and $169 for the switch and I'm at the same place I started. Went to bed and then the next morning checked the fuses, both we're good so I pulled it apart again - this time I test fit my old switch and low and behold it worked also. Reassembled everything back into the dash and again no headlights. Doing my traditional passive aggressive approach when I can't get something to work, I went through the entire process while explaining it to my wife. She says well maybe the wires are pinched, she lovingly straightened the leads from the harness back into the cavity of the switch and said try it now. I'm sure this is a waste of time but why not try - right. I test fit the original switch and it works of course. I really struggle this time to reassemble it taking about two hours cussing and doubting myself along the way and all along knowing it won't work and sure enough I reinstall it and the damn thing works.
My main reason for the post is to prove that even a dumbass like me can do some DIY on a PCar with some help from this forum and an observant wife. And yes the dealer did take the part back so NO out of pocket expense. That has NEVER happened to me when getting something done on the car. I'm no Hurdy or KK but I did kinda dig doing it myself.

Great job! I remember a time when my wife helped me put a headliner back in one of my cars. I knew it came out but no way was it going back in... until SHE tried. You gotta luv it!
My wife and her wee hands saved the day a while back - she was able to get to a couple of header bolts on my Corvette in spots where my ape hands will not fit.
