Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'condensation' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'condensation' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean engine' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

This is common in cooler weather when the car does get fully warm or is used on short journeys.

Others have used Victory Motorcars which I think may be closer to the car's location.

More than likely the "gack" on the filler is simply condensation from the motor not being run enough recently to get the oil really hot.

My thought is it might be a bit of leakage if they cleaned the engine with high pressure water or steam.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thank you Don for taking the time and effort to look this over today. He even hooked it up to his Durametric
Mostly cosmetic issues. There is an oil issue I will have checked at the PPI (see picture below)
Once again I cannot thank Don enough for going over it so well.
More than likely the "gack" on the filler is simply condensation from the motor not being run enough recently to get the oil really hot. When the motor is started from cold and not run up to temperature (15-20 minutes perhaps), water and unburned gasoline condenses in the oil and in the filler neck (which is cold), resulting in that creamy yellow stuff.
If the oil's been changed regularly (every 6 months), this presents only a cosmetic issue since the additives in the oil will prevent corrosion. If the oil is not changed frequently enough then its corrosion inhibitors could be "used up" and some corrosion in the engine might result. An invasive PPI should be able to give you some peace of mind; a "walk around" PPI, not so much.
Good luck!
Good job Rennlisters!
It's so easy in the midst of yet another infuriating and stupid IMS, value, or oil argument to forget just how awesome Rennlist and the vast majority of its members is. I have relied on this community for over 13 years, including significant assistance with two out of state purchases.
So... Who knows the toughest shop in Houston? Tim needs a brutally honest and thorough PPI.
I had this happen on my car when I first got it. It was because I did not take it out and drive it after I started it. I would let it idle in the garage just to circulate the oil when it sat for a while. After it happened the first time, I posted on Rennlist and was told that this would happen if not driven until the car warmed up to 180 degrees.
I know it goes too far, but I'd be inclined to pull the oil filter. That creamy color could also be a coolant leak at a head. Oil filter would show metal particulates as well.

The salesman asked me if I saw anything that needed to be addressed when I returned the car from the test drive. I mentioned the gas gauge but I didn't say anything about the oil because I didn't want them to clean it up before the PPI and possibly hide any issues that are of concern. My thought is it might be a bit of leakage if they cleaned the engine with high pressure water or steam.
This is common in cooler weather when the car does get fully warm or is used on short journeys. Humidity and oil mist are mixed and condensed in the exposed filler cap and oil tube, and form an emulsified goo.
A buddy stopped by yesterday with a newly bought Forest Green 6TT. The color is absolutely gorgeous in person. The metallic really pops in the sun light and it's almost like there is a slight pearlescence in the clear coat. Simply a beautiful color! Hope it checks out OK.
I've used European Auto Technik, off of Rankin Road (just north of the North Beltway). They're an independent shop that comes highly recommended by many in the Long Star Region Porsche Club of America. A bit of a haul from Texas Direct Auto.
Others have used Victory Motorcars which I think may be closer to the car's location. I have no experience with them however.
It passed today and the papers are signed. Green C4S coming to Denver!!!!!!!!!
You guys rock.
Now to find some Gray Sport seats, TA Wheels and front spoiler, GT2 spoiler heheheheheheh
We are excited. Some of you guys that have been around a while have seen some of the cars I have had. This will be a beauty. And to give credit where credit is due, my wife Laura looked at this when I sent it to her and said 'Buy It". "it is the color you have always wanted". She is just as excited as I am. Personally I am wondering what Alien Race replace my wife.....
Don....Thanks again. It has cosmetic work but to be honest, that is what make the project fun.
I could use this configuration in a green CAB......................
Congrats!! Hope to see it on our roads!!
I have seen a Boxster in the same color few years ago and it is absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy in good health, Tim!
No real issues found. Confirmed the oil issue was condensation. Having them change the oil. The issue Don found with the fuel gauge is the indicator in the tank. They are fixing it. It will need my proper TLC but that is part of the fun. I want to have it ready for the summer ACC Car show here in Colorado. Will be the only green one
