Suggestion
It looks different enuf and has a very clean look on a "narrowbody" (except for the license place of course), and it's a direct fit after modifying the bumper bar a bit.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Situation is that the front stock (non-aerokit) bumper on my C2 is cracked. I thought I could live with it and am thinking more and more that I can't (I know Ignacio..good money after the bad..
). Do you think it would look weird if I just put on the gt3 front bumper (from carnewal.com) w/o adding the skirt$$? Is this different from the regular Aerokit bumper? Has anyone put on a more aggressive nose w/o the other fixin's?? Any pix?
Thanks!
The 2003 GT3 cup car has a nose similar to the GT2's complete with the exhasut vent running across the top. Id get that one. Looks cool.
Go to the Porsche website and look under motorsport sales you will see it there.
Personally, I'd go with the Turbo nose. It looks different enuf and has a very clean look on a "narrowbody" (except for the license place of course), and it's a direct fit after modifying the bumper bar a bit.

I remember a very old post that mentioned someone who had done just that, placed the GT3 front bumper only, and ended up with altered handling in the track (only high speeds I suppose) due to the unbalanced aerodinamics (front vs rear) and ended up adding the rest (rear wing, etc) to compensate and fix it.
Don the turbo bumper is not going to work with the '01 car he has. Different headlamps and fenders required to make that transition. I like the GT3 nose the best. Just my personal observation. Not that Misty is not a great looking car just another view point. As to whether it would look good without the side skirts, I say no. Just would look a little front end heavy from a side view in my opinion. Cheers.
If you fit the turbo B. then you have to change also the headlamps. This is possible.
Other wise then if you fit the GT3 bumper personally i would add the sideskirts for the look.(both of them made a good complement).
From the best aftermarket'pieces there are RUF, Cargraphic, Techart..You can't go wrong with those!

Have a similar problem, in that Hellen Keller seems to have used the front of my car in her braille parking method. Went to www.roock.com and had them send me a very nifty front spoiler add on that provides a very similar look to the factory aero kit. Mine is a 99 and I was having difficulty finding a turbo look unit to fit my car. One body shop did provide their opinion that the parts from www.mashaw.com fit pretty well and I believe they have a turbo look. good luck
Funny this post should come up today. On Friday, I will be picking up my 01-996 from the porsche dealer with a new gt-3 front and no side skirt. I am not a big fan of the fatory gt-3 rear wing, so that was never and option. I had to replace the hood and the insurance company paid to have the front bumper taken off, painted and put back on. I thought what better time to install the bumper! I will take pics Friday and post them. I was a little skeptical until I saw one on ebay. Hopefully i wont be so bad. The reality is I will install either the RUF, Roock or cargraphic rockers in the next couple months. C-YA

upgrading to a gt3 bumper makes more sense than simply replacing your currently blemished but perfectly seviceable bumper. my only caution is to consider how you'll feel if the same thing happens again? sorry, but it's better to bring it up now rather than later
Hey, thanks again board!
01'996C-24ME (sounds like a star date ): Don't forget to please post some pix of your car. I talked to insurance agent and he says since I have had one claim in 7 years to go ahead and claim this. But I think I'll wait till summer to actually go thru the process. Any before/after pix would be a greattttttttttttt help!!
Ignacio, dude I really hope this sh*t doesn't ever happen again. I've never had a piece of road debris hit and damage my car so badly before (knock on wood). If I am gonna change, I might as well upgrade.
I also think you should get the side skirts with the GT3 bumper.
My car has those the bumper and side skirts, just not the taco shell rear wing, and I like the look, but I think the bumper is already lower than the skirts as it is, so without the skirts, it's gonna look quite weird with the front so low and the rest of the car so high.
BTW the the GT3 bumper is not only low but is a pretty long overhang, so you'll have to be more careful about clearance too...

i agree an upgrade is a better alternative

I love the clean look without sideskirts and keeping the stock back-end.
What exactly is required to convert to the turbo front end?
