Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If the yearly mileage is more than 9,000 miles, it is recommended to perform the maintenance at the scheduled mileage intervals.
Proper care and maintenance will preserve the value of your Porsche and safeguard its functional capability.
This will also protect your right to make warranty claims.
The terms "inspect" and "check" include all associated work such as checking the condition, adjustments, readjustments, corrections and replenishment.
They do not include the repair, replacement or overhaul of components or assemblies.
The maintenance points are valid for all vehicle types of the model line in question.

The annual service, for cars driven under 9,000 miles since last servicing, I was quoted $190.00 tax from Paul Miller Porsche in Fairfield, NJ:
<a href="http://www.paulmillerporsche.com" target="_blank">http://www.paulmillerporsche.com</a>
I also have a 2002 996 that is going in on St. Patty's Day for its yearly maintenance. I actually had the Mobil 1 changed at ~2.8K miles to remove break-in filings. Pages 8
I've never bought a brand new car (always too concerned with depreciation) and therefore have never owned a car under warranty however I've got an order in on a GT3. Are the regular servicings not covered under the warranty during that period!?
looks like the dealer gets $400 to do an oil change, and checks all the fluid levels, in my shop I do the same thing for $18.00 labor plus the parts and I have over 40 years of german auto experience
I went to my dealer today. I've got 2700 miles after a year. and he told me to do NOTHING. Said if I get up to the 6000-9000 mile mark this summer to bring it in fo ran oild change.
What do you guys think. Should I cange the oild now anyway??
I would definatley change the oil. I don't know what kind of driving you do(short trips, hard driving will effect oil performance)but having effective oil in your motor is one of the best ways to protect it. It is relativley cheap maintenance and most recommend yearly changes regardless of mileage.
I did my first change at 1,000 miles, but have always known to be aggressive on preventive maintenance. My dealer said wait until 10-15K miles for 1st oil change. My thought is there may be more for the dealer in the long run with by the book oil changes. I think some of that already has occurred with 993's that had long oil change intervals of ~ 15K, and now realizing abnormal engine wear.
Hi Cable Guy -
I would change the oil now or soon... If I read your post correctly, you've got the origional oil from when the factory first started it up 2700 miles ago.
Mobil One will hold up perfectly well for a lot longer, but changing the oil & filter now will allow you to flush out any metal fragments floating around in there from the initial castings, etc...
Scientifically, I don't know how critical this is, but I always feel much better doing it.
Scott5,
I think the same way as you, but PORSCHE claims there is no need. They say you can go 15,000 miles before the first oil change.
I'll probably change it anyway!
