Suggestion

Obviously, it would be nice to have an 2004 and 18 months of use before the 2005's come out but if it means waiting another 6 months, I'm not sure it's worth it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2 days ago, I got the confirmation number of my order for my GT3. Suprising news, all of the cars which will be made before the August break will be of 2003 model year and everthing after will be 2004. I was told that not every dealer was going to get an 03 car. So they think there will be between 100 and 200 cars shipped to the U.S. with the 03 year. So here is the question, Would you rather have an 03 or an 04?

POST 2Original post

It has been determined that all GT3's headed to North America will be 2004 models.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Vicken As I stated, my confirmation for my car will be an 03 not an 04. This was futher confirmed last Thursday when I was at the grand opening party for the dealer that I ordered the car from and the PCNA Zone Rep said the same thing. When he said it I thought he was mistaken. But as it turns out he wasn't. I guess we will find out when they arrive.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

BTW, to futher confuse the issue a new 2004 Order Guide(not to be used for the 2003)was issued on Tuesday.

POST 6Original post

My Order Guide states "2004". Yet, the vehicle order form the dealer states "2003 Porsche GT3". All I know at this time is that it will be a June build. What year...who knows?

POST 7Original post

My order confirmation also says 2003 GT3. Car to be delivered in May. Obviously, it would be nice to have an 2004 and 18 months of use before the 2005's come out but if it means waiting another 6 months, I'm not sure it's worth it. I plan on keeping this car for a long time, so it won't make much difference in the long run. If there are only a couple hundred 2003, maybe they'll be of more interest to collectors, ala the '73 RS versus the '74 RS. Karl

POST 8Original post

My car was ordered in March, build in June and delivered in August as a 2003. This leads me to agree that the GT3 will be a 2004.

POST 9Original post

The new GT3 looks to be VERY amazing. From the even lighter engine internals to the ceramic brakes
