Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I contacted the dealer that serviced my car from 2017-19 to fill in some holes in the service history and after giving the SA the vin was told no records of the car ever being serviced there and got hung up on. Has anyone been successful at getting any info from the dealer? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I've not been hung up on, but I've only seen this work when you bring in the car for service and ask them to print out a service history. And there is CarFax as a backup.

Yeah, that could mean anything. I hate when that happens, but if it shows car serviced at a Porsche Dealer, that beats showing car serviced at Bob's Muffler-Rama.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There was a few indy shops on there that sent me service history. Just a few holes I am trying to fill in the history. Maybe ill call back another day and try again

POST 6Original post

OP - Unfortunately, the dealers are not willing to open that Pandora’s Box. Once a Pcar has been moved out from under the dealership “custody chain”, whether post-warranty or the owner(s) just not going back, the headaches associated with implied liability and expense of maintaining the data doesn’t make financial sense for them. Don’t ask, don’t tell; all with plausible deniability. Rude is never good for sales, so bad on that Porsche dude.

POST 8Original post

They don't usually give out service history if they can't redact the previous customer's info for Pii reasons. Some billing systems can't remove associated info to the service records so they just say they're not available, only way you can probably get them is if they print them out and redact Pii. Good luck.

POST 9Original post

Dealers have to abide by the " Gramm Leach Bliley" act due to their falling into a financial institution category.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

@ DBJoe996 No service issues with the Car is up to date on maintenance. I Was just trying to connect the dots to get a better idea of the service history on the car before my ownership. I was able to get a majority of the service history.
