Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Look at how the roll has broken down If you pick it up its sticky and little pieces fall off I need another that's perfect OEM I don't need tools just the roll Anybody else's tool roll turning to crap. ?

POST 3Original post

Bucket Boss tool roll... If your not worried about hurting the "collector" value of a 996

POST 4Original post

Speaking of the tool roll tools, does anyone have a list of all of the items/tools that should be found in a complete factory tool roll? My roll has spaces with no tools which does not automatically mean something's missing, but how to know?

I looked at mine Sunday for the first time. No spare slots. Happy to see a tow hook. Kit had never been used by the looks of it.

POST 6Original post

This is what I've got in my tool roll. It really is just tools for changing tires, tow eye, and the tool to pop out the headlights. I guess I am used to the larger selection found in the BMW toolkits.

POST 7Original post

One caution. Keep the wheel lock socket in the cabin instead of the frunk, in case you need to remove the wheel and wheel liner to fish for the frunk release cable

POST 8Original post

Good thought Ahsai, but I relocated the frunk release cable so that it is accessible via the tow hook hole. No fishing around in the wheel well and fender any more!

Yeah the e28 ones were great as you could fix like 80% of the car with it.

http://www.harborfreight.com/130-pie...ase-68998.html My SHTF tool kit for 996. It fits perfectly at the bottom of the frunk.

+1 on that tool roll, sweet!! I may just have to order one up.

POST 14Original post

Yeah mine is turning to crap also. Would be interested if someone know how to get a replacement.

Where is the lug wrench? Edit: Never mind. I was remembering my air-cooled kit. It had two "lug" wrenches, one for the fan nut and one for the lugs. They were "L" shaped not "totally tubular man" like the 996.

POST 17Original post

Maybe: http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/to...FbB9OgodLFsArg If you or your wife sews the original pouch would be simple to make.

POST 18Original post

According to the PET, the part number for just the pouch is 996 721 415 00. I have not looked to see if this can still be ordered. From this list, I think I answered my own question about what tools are missing from my tool roll. A 10x13MM wrench and a screwdriver. Does anyone have a photo of these two tools?
