Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will be making a thread in the for sale section soon for these but I wanted to help out those who contribute in the 996 forum the most to benefit first! 997S headers with 18,000 miles on them. $200 + shipping. They work for 996 and 997 C2, C4, & C4S cars. P.S. Yes, there are performance gains with them as well.

POST 2Original post

I didn't realise the 997S headers were a direct fit for a 996? Awesome! Thanks

POST 3Original post

Larger ports and piping. I have them on my race car....

Yea, if i wasn't boosting my car I would have them on already!

POST 5Original post

Any idea what the gains are? (Approx) Also, where are you located?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im located in Cincinnati, OH I don't have a specific idea on gains. Everyone speculates however until I see a proper dyno I am not sure. I guess it also depends on if you are rocking a 3.4l or a 3.6l To put it in perspective, to get similar gains through a plenum, its about $800

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Need to fund a meth kit $200 shipped!

Unless you have extensive mods or live at the tracks in upper rpm's, I feel the x51's narrow your power band too much to the upper ranges based on the data I've seen.

Here's a pic to compare. Port sizes don't look very different but I'd love to try the X51's.....

POST 14Original post

The x51's use 48mm piping.

POST 15Original post

Do you have any of that data to share? Looks to me like the 997 pipe diameter is smaller just before the collector.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sold. Thanks everyone! Long live the 996!
