Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Bosch has been changing their plugs lately though.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm checking the Bosch website for my plug and it gives me two options: 3596cc or 3606cc engine?
The only reference a search turned up was from another post:
"It states that the 997 Carrera 2 will have the same 3596cc engine as the 02 996 and the Carrera S will have 3824cc with 350bhp. They are both the same engine, but the Carrera S stretched the bore by 3mm to 99mm, but with the same 82.8mm stroke."
I couldn't independently verify with another authoritative source how to determine which engine was installed in which version of the 996.
Anyone here have any documentation explaining this?
My options according to Bosch:
FGR6KQE 7413 (w/ 4 electrodes) for 3596cc engine
FR6LDC 7410 (w/ 2 electrodes) for 3606cc engine RWD
FGR6KQE 7413 (w/ 4 electrodes) for 3606cc engine AWD
while Pelican lists FGR5KQEO.
BTW Bosch has a great

that explaining pretty much all one need to know about spark plugs and a full-color analysis of wear patterns.
USA 2002 996 engine is either Turbo or not. Don't know why it would be that complicated. Bosch has been changing their plugs lately though. Lots of mistakes on Pelican so don't rely on them. Try Pep Boys.
Well, yeah, that's true (and dare I say - obvious) but apparently there are other differences. It is these differences I am hoping to find info on. Thanks for the input though...
I don't get it, people want accurate infor but don't want to ask the souce that knows for sure, in this case Porsche. The root of most misinformation is people speculating.
It's not that people don't want to ask the source, it's just that when people have a question they determine what resources they have to answer the question and then they start going through each resource one by one until they find the answer. Perhaps they start at the place they believe will give them the quickest answer because of all the knowledgable participants. Perhaps they are frustrated because they ask a specific question and people who don't know the answer offer obvious self-evident information as a reply.
I don't know. Perhaps...
Well no one stocks the Bosch plugs locally so I went with the NGK Iridium. I went to Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts, Pep Boys, and O'Reilly. Next time I'll know to order online beforehand.
