Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know it's not accurate but just for fun and some baseline. I used 1557kg as the weight and got 246hp @7150 rpm on a flat road with full tank of gas. That's 23% loss in the drivetrain assuming 320hp at the flywheel. I did a few more runs and I got similar numbers between 220-240hp, which sounds quite low. Wonder if anyone has tried the same. Oh, these are whp, not on the flywheel.

POST 3Original post

Smartphone apps give you the ballpark for the HP. They don't account for air temperature or elevation. Both factors play huge role in the power your engine produces. I have Gtech-Pro that I use from time to time. It is accurate, but extremely senstivite to weight, location and angles. When set up correctly, g-tech gives out 1/4 miles times withing 0.2 seconds and flywheel HP numbers are roughly accurate.

Agree it gives ballpark numbers only. From the accelerometer, they know acceleration, then they can compute the force needed based on the mass (weight). F=ma. If you neglect drag, it should give a pretty decent estimate of whp.
