Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
The easiest way to tell if this is happening is to use a mirror to inspect all sides of the tank for coolant residue and check the LH exhaust manifold for staining.
Leading evidence: 'original 19 year old tank at the time' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'original 19 year old tank at the time' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check lh exhaust manifold' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Was replaced with a tank right from the dealer along with the cap and I also replaced the plastic joint with a metal one.

After I replaced the tank, I decided to take a better look at the tank.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had the water pump changed around ten july. I did expect that there would be we a small amount of burping, so to speak.
my coolant tank was all the way up to full and upon returning from a trip to paris, so roughly what twelve hundred kilometers, the coolant tank is now on the minimum mark.
what does the collective think, cause for concern?
Depending on how the coolant was drained & refilled, this could be considered normal. Even when a vacuum fill of the system is used there is some settling of the coolant after a few heat cycles. My suggestion would be to top it off and monitor for a another 1K kms.
I agree with the above advice. On three occasions I have used my Airlift to fill coolant back into the system of my 996. It is a brilliant method and tool. However, after a long test drive afterwards, I have found that the coolant level dropped enough to necessitate a topping up. This occurred each time.
I had a minor coolant loss over a few years - would top up with a few ounces annually. then my tank let go. No longer have coolant loss since replacement. I never say a drop of coolant in the garage until the tank dumped its coolant on a hot day after a sprited drive.
This is typical of a split tank that leaks when the coolant is hot enough to expand the crack in the plastic and seals up again when it cools down. Also, the slow drip when the coolant is hot usually ends up on the LH exhaust manifold and vapourizing. The easiest way to tell if this is happening is to use a mirror to inspect all sides of the tank for coolant residue and check the LH exhaust manifold for staining. Also, you typically get a stong coolant smell when the car is hot.
I'm not going to disagree with you. But on my car, no coolant smell. Car was kept on a lift that I would walk underneath daily to get my daily driver. Never any evidence of a leak. After the car puked coolant, I drove 30 minutes home. Didn't leak, not a drop when I parked it. When I pulled the tank, didn't really see any evidence of the leak. After I replaced the tank, I decided to take a better look at the tank. Again, no evidence of a leak. So, I applied 50 psi to the tank. Finally, saw the leak. not even a quarter inch defect right on the seam at about the centre of the tank. It was the original 19 year old tank at the time. Was replaced with a tank right from the dealer along with the cap and I also replaced the plastic joint with a metal one. Here's the thread
