If you have adjusted the tail pipes several times, you will want to loosen them up or remove them when you replace the motor mounts so that they don't interfere with the installation.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car has 115K and I would assume by now the mounts need replacing. I know you can look at the tailpipes, etc. but I've adjusted them several times as I've added aftermarket cats, etc. I know theres a lot of different mounts available but any recommendations? Should I just stick with OEM? Thoughts?

POST 2Original post

I would stick with OEM. I did. Mainly because aftermarket motor mounts could lead to problems with the engine knock sensors.

POST 3Original post

^^^Agree REIN mounts work well. Got them on mine.

POST 4Original post

I used these from Rennpart. Theyre 964 RS mounts that are a step between OEM and Semi solids. Fantastic mount. https://rennpart.com/product/rs-engine-mount-upgrade/

POST 5Original post

If you have adjusted the tail pipes several times, you will want to loosen them up or remove them when you replace the motor mounts so that they don't interfere with the installation. The nuts on my motor mounts were corroded and it took a 2-meter breaker bar to get them loose with me lying on the floor and my feet propped on the rear wheel.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Actually with it being a southern car, the nuts are not to badly corroded so shouldn't be to hard to remove.....but we'll see :P)
