I replace my old 1997 Boxster 4 spoke wheel with a silver crest 3 spoke from a 2000 S - but I like the silver crest so I do not think I will trade you.

Like Rob said, you have to get a different airbag - you cannot just change the crest.

Hi all - well, we did it. Took delivery of our "new" '99 C4 Cab, and it's stunningly beautiful, of course. Like your children, you think YOURS is the prettiest. Trying to find out where we can get a replacement crest for the steering wheel? We'd like to replace the gold/black/red one with the silver/black one we've seen on some cars. You have to change out the entire air bag.

You have two choices to locate one from what I know. Try either carnewal.com or call ByDesign in LA. Either way you can't go wrong. Post pics please!

Like Rob said, you have to get a different airbag - you cannot just change the crest. Two of our local Boxster owners recently did just that. One owner had the silver/black crest and the other owner had the gold/colored crest. They exchanged airbags. They were both vinyl so it was an even exchange. The silver crest was only on a 2000 Boxster S and the 3 spoke wheels after that had the colored crest. I replace my old 1997 Boxster 4 spoke wheel with a silver crest 3 spoke from a 2000 S - but I like the silver crest so I do not think I will trade you. If you have no luck try my local Boxster board.
