Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
In some states, a re-code causes the DMV to fail your smog test if-and-when they know via check sum monitors.
Leading evidence: 'Check sum monitors' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check sum monitors' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
If i understood FVD correctly, and i may not have since it wasnt my application, they can solve for CEL issues on their 100 and no cat racing systems using their software.

Suggestion
Are they sufficient for use with a cat bypass or are they more for getting an aftermarket (or old) cat from causing a CEL?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone had O2 extenders work on shutting off the CEL on a 2004 911 Carrera? I see different things on Youtube. Haven't seen anything on this fourm.
Genuine Porsche Cats are expensive but they are very good quality,,, they "have to be" because the Feds Mandate an 8 year 80K miles warranty on them ..
The Cat Cleaners and "MiNi Cats" do not always keep the CEL from coming on ...( but they are cheap enough that many people will give them a try)
Which ones did you use? My 996 is stock with IMS bearing and rear seal replaced. It does have some bore scoring in 3, 5, & 6, with #6 being the worse of the three and 5 & 3 not being so bad. I would have thought bank 2 cat would be the one that is giving me a problem but it's bank 1. Looking at putting an extender on the O2 sensor bank 1, downward position. Thoughts?
FVD since I have an FVD exhaust system. Links below. But most of the major exhaust manufacturers sell them as well as other distributors. Not expensive in the grand scheme of things if you are looking for a potential solution.

Never ran a cat bypass so never asked. I put them on to solve the CEL issue on my 200 cel cats. If i understood FVD correctly, and i may not have since it wasnt my application, they can solve for CEL issues on their 100 and no cat racing systems using their software. Dont know if the extensions are part of the equation. If you want more info you can always call Rhonda at FVD.
Thanks I would kinda like the no cat option on the car occasionally but would prefer to be able to solve the CEL issue with hardware rather than software.
Your stock cats are causing a CEL, it's time to replace them.
The cat extension is really there to solve the cat inefficiency code for a 200 cat. Nothing helps the 100 cat, except a re-code. In some states, a re-code causes the DMV to fail your smog test if-and-when they know via check sum monitors.
