Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I found this in the frunk. Can find where is goes. Has anybody seen this part before? Not even sure it's from the frunk area. The last photo has a part number on it which may help. image-4233184769.jpg image-2250544424.jpg image-2029284744.jpg image-2870515024.jpg

POST 2Original post

According to a couple of websites that sell Porsche parts, this item is called "connector housing cap booster" and it shows it to be a part of the audio equipment. I'm not sure where the booster is located in our 996s, but that's where this is supposed to fit.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I saw that but my car doesn't have that in the frunk. It has something else. I have an after market navi and entertainment system.

POST 4Original post

I think it is the cover for the giant connector that attaches to the Bose amplifier in the frunk.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I can't even see the part on any of the three links google found for me. Really a mystery to me.

POST 6Original post

Yup, it's a protection piece that snaps over the corner of the amp and couvers the wires, I took mine off the clean the connections to try and eliminate a stereo buzz

POST 7Original post

^ Yup, these folks are correct. That's precisely what it is. If you get to hacking on the connector to try to get the audio sounding better, you'll want that to cover up your handiwork.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone. Still had to puzzle it out for 30 seconds then I saw the two attaching holes. Got it sorted. Cheers image-459936415.jpg
