This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So while searching through options for MK1 aerokit, came down to 2 options below; (1) OEM front bumper + OEM side skirts (2) gettydesign manufactured CF frontbumper + OEM side skirts Anyone here has experience with CF front bumper? Thanks, Mike

POST 2Original post

One tap on the CF bumper and game over. If you have steep inclines and/or your car is lowered you will inevitably scrape your lower front at the minimum. PM'd you.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought CF stuff are little stronger than the fiberglass bumpers. The bottom out scrapes can happen on both OEM & CF bumpers, but would it cause more extensive damage to CF bumper than OEM bumper? I know fiberglass bumper will just tear off the bottom portion rather than just scratch sometimes.

POST 4Original post

CF is strong but brittle, it won't flex in case of a bump, just crack. unless your car is a show car, I wouldn't recommend CF bumper either.

POST 5Original post

Fiberglass or CF make for terrible bumpers, not flexible at all.

Actually "Duraflex" FRP technique is "flexible" but flexing as in twisting isn't the same thing as impact as they are two different things and people fall for the Duraflex video all the time. Plus all the impact videos they have is with a bumper loose. Once the bumper is mounted with all attachment points, it's a different story as there is no where for the material to deform to.
