Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was hoping you guys could recommend based on your experiences which coilovers would be the best and which ones to stay away from.

I would be running 245's on that if I were you to get rid of the understeering and make it neutral.

Why are you running the front stock size tire on such a big rim?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

In the US, I was told by my dealership, there is no difference in height when you order the M030.
Hello guys, I've been reading your posts for a while now, but this is MY first post. Thanks for all the info over the last several months. It helped when I bought my 2003 996 C2.
I have just put 18x8.5 and 18x11 Gemaballa competitions with 225/40/18's and 295/30/18's on the car.
I have the factory lowered suspension, but I think I need a little more for the right look. I must obviously then go then with coilovers. I was hoping you guys could recommend based on your experiences which coilovers would be the best and which ones to stay away from.
Thanks in advance.
John.
I had H&R coilovers on my 993 C4S, it was great and I'm waiting for my new set of H&R for my 996 <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />
Johnny996, do you mean you have the M030, Special chassis ridgily tuned? This suspension does NOT lower the car, just stiffen things up a bit. The best thing for you to do is to stay with Gemballa and go with their suspesnion set up. Why Gemballa? Well, you already have their wheels and they are one of the best companies out there for aftermarket Porsche upgrades.
Good Luck.
John, I have the M030, however in Canada, we have the same suspension as in europe and therefore my vehicle is lowered by 28-30mm. In the US, I was told by my dealership, there is no difference in height when you order the M030. Maybe someone can confirm this, but my car was visually lower than the 996's that were parked beside mine the day I picked it up.
Also, maybe someone could also confirm that Gemballa coilovers are just rebadged H&R's - is this true??
Thanks.
Why are you running the front stock size tire on such a big rim? I would be running 245's on that if I were you to get rid of the understeering and make it neutral. A decent alignment makes it day and night also. I run -.5f -1.4r and it is sooo much better.
Hey Johnny. The new PSS9 set up in my view is the way to go. Being from T.O. myself , I know the roads well.
The PSS9 has worked well on all our clients 996 turbos. You would love it !!
Theo
No doubt, the roads here are "crap" to say the least - especially just after the winter months. I will look into the PSS9's. Thanks.
Re: M030 suspension. I saw the same on the Porsche parts list - exact same suspension parts...but if I didn't have it I wouldn't believe it myself. The Canadian versions are in fact 28mm lower - I just called Downtown Fine Cars in Toronto, (my dealership) and confirmed it again just in case I was going "nuts".
The tire combo 225 FRONT 295 REAR was directly recommended by Gemballa - so I am puxzzled by SPR's response - I will look into it and give Gemballa a call. Thanks.
