Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Wish I saw this post yesterday morning as I just replaced my non working markers w/OEM.
Leading evidence: 'Replace non working markers w/oem' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace non working markers w/oem' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Those "projector" type LED bulbs are not as effective as DRLs as are the multi-LED bulbs that make use of the entire headlight reflector design.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I thought it was a city light for Europe and didn't work in the US.
I had a burned out marker light recently and decided to try some LEDs instead of the normal bulbs.
The stock bulbs are pretty hard to see, so this at least makes them more functional.
I got them here -

Only caveat is you have to grind off one of the "nubs" as the stock socket is designed for 150 deg and these are 180 deg
Thus far I like the change. Updates it without being too ostentatious and is completely reversible.
Passenger: LED Driver: Incandescent
I replaced mine about six months ago with LED's as well... I used the 5 LED BAX9S version, no filing/modification needed, plug and play.. They work and look great, a great $3 modification! Much 'whiter' light than incandescent bulbs, brighter light, lower current, and longer life.
$2.99 shipped on e-Bay! (search for '
BAX9S 5 5050 LED
').
These look like the
same bulbs on Amazon
same bulbs on Amazon
... More expensive (though still under $5!), but probably faster shipping.
Also... If you don't want to file off pins, make sure you get a BAx9S bulb type instead of a BA9S...
They are almost identical, but the BA9S has the pins 180 degrees apart (incorrect for our application), and the BAx9S has pins 150 degrees apart (correct).
Wait those lights blink on our cars? I thought it was a city light for Europe and didn't work in the US. Now I need to go play with my car and check it out.
Hard to take pictures of a light source directly, but just snapped one of the LED's only...
I believe these are rated at 70 lumens vs. 25 for the bulb you showed a link to.
Thanks. It is hard to get an accurate picture of LEDs, but those look pretty good.
I was contemplating these as well -

I just wasnt sure how bright was going to be overkill for what I was looking for.
These are easy to swap out if not satisfied
Well hot damn! Learn something new everyday. I just checked and they do in fact light up. I thought they were city lights, but weren't "active" in the US. My BMW was like that, the bulb was there, but it wasn't wired.
Perhaps these are city lights. I remember from yester-year that city lights were relatively low wattage, like 5-7watts. So the factory one looks like a pretty low output. (Definitely not DRL.)
Time to order some of these LED "city lights." Though I have no other LEDs on my car.
Just an update, I decided to try a new type of LED (long bulb in picture)
A friend of mine bought these and I was really impressed with how bright they actually are. Rated at 250-300lm (old lights at 25lm) they could work as low power fogs.
Quality wise they are very good and the barrel is machined aluminum (I was half expecting chromed plastic).
Shipping from China took about 3 weeks and that inlcuded Christmas
A bit tricky to install due to the length but it is possible with some patience.
Once I get some pictures of them in the car I will post em

Another advantage of having these as bright as possible is when your Litronic light fails on the same side of your car. At least, that side is not completely dark for oncoming traffic.
A cop might also think your light has simply gone weak and decide it is not worth stopping you.
I noticed this when my Litronic D2S bulb failed a month ago on the passenger side.
These do illuminate the housing as well. A friend of mine has the same style headlights (turbo) as I do, but tried the exposed multi LED type bulbs. They do provide good peripheral light, but next to these you can hardly tell they are on from 10ft away.
The focused beam is like a mini flashlight and is easier for other drivers to spot
