Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone in KC have a set of muffler bypass pipes they would like to sell? Let me know if you do!

POST 2Original post

Have you heard how LOUD the car is with muffler bypass pipes? You can drop the stock mufflers and put some $10 Autozone flex-pipes on to see how loud the car will sound. I thought of this mod, but it is just too loud for anything but racetrack.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is is louder than a v8 through the cats with no mufflers? The videos sound good, but I have never heard one in person...

POST 4Original post

It is almost as loud as having the open headers on the V8 or running the open DP on the 4 cylinder car. Very loud for a daily driver when cruising or accelerating. Fun, but too loud for daily use. As I said, take off the stock mufflers and put $10 flexpipes on to see if you can handle the noise.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A friend of mine put the heapy cheapy advanced auto pipes on my car last night at his shop as a test to see what they sounded like. To be honest, it is really not that loud comparing it to anything V8 I have had. At idle it is not much louder than stock, on a load it is so-so and kinda flat sounding, at high revs it gets pretty loud but sounds pretty cool. After driving it, I thought it sounded like dog dodo, just flat sounding... Then had him drive it, and it sounds much better out side the car. I am going to go ahead and put some stainless pipes, with nice tips and see how it sounds then. I am sure it will be sum-what similar volume wise, but I think the cheap metal, crimp bent pipe, with the ribs and no tips have a lot to do with the tone.... There is my 2 cents!

POST 6Original post

Nope, you were right the first time. It sounds like a POS. You will quickly tire of the noise and drone.

You were right... Mufflers are back on, I kept going back and fourth on it. I decided that all I was doing was trying to find a way to like the sound, when really, I couldn't stand it. The car sounds so much deeper with the mufflers on, and feels stronger in the low and mid range power band again. back to normal!
