You can turn the volume down and use the app notification only, but if your car is like mine, it's hard to hear the phone when bombing along (unless you have bt mobridge I guess).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone familiar with iRadar, did a search here and came up empty. I know there are some big Valentine and Escort fans here, but I love Apple products and the price is right. Or you get what you pay for;-) Has some nice features for remembering false alarms and real camera locations. I have no personal experience with Cobra. But after a lot of reading and research, choice boiled down to Valentine or Escort. I went with the Escort Passport 9500iX. FWIW, this is one of many sites I consulted: http://www.radarbusters.com/?source=...tors&tid=Exact

I have this. The detector seems to work well. The app is also good (although I'm using on Android) and can be used standalone (so you can try it out before purchasing). The only thing which isn't clear on the packaging is that the app remembers false alerts (and colours the screen by probability the detection is false or real) but the unit itself still bleeps, which is quite annoying. You can turn the volume down and use the app notification only, but if your car is like mine, it's hard to hear the phone when bombing along (unless you have bt mobridge I guess). Good value for money, good quality, but the above feature is annoying.

POST 4Original post

Cobra traditionally has not been known to have good radar detector products, yes they kind of work, but just not with great performance, falses a lot too. Not to say high price automatically equals high performance, but I would be suspicious at the $71 price point this product is being sold for.
