Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 2002 C4 cab didn't have the hardtop, but I did buy one from a guy back in August. I got a good deal on it, and it's in OK, but not great condition. I notice more wind noise when driving it, and when I washed it the other day (no, not through an automatic wash), water was seeping in around the trim pieces above the window. Looking closely at the trim, it has pulled away a bit from the shell. What can I do to re-seal it? Can it be reseated, can it be sealed with silicone sealant, or does it have to be replaced? I'd hate to think that it's less weatherproof than the convertible top, but so far, that seems to be the case. Thanks, everyone, and happy new year!
