There is clearly an oil leak and I can see a drop of what looks like oil on pipe before exhaust after running for 5-10min.

Just received 996 C4S off of auction. No PPI was done and I was well aware of the risk I was taking. Car has had IMS bearing done, however service records don't show RMS having been done at same time. There is clearly an oil leak and I can see a drop of what looks like oil on pipe before exhaust after running for 5-10min. My initial thought is RMS as car does not seem to be burning any oil on cold start (no smoke), however take a listen to the video and I would appreciate any thoughts. It sounds ok to me? Fingers crossed. Cheers

It sounds plenty "good enough" to me ... And the drip you see is just water condensation.....normal......( water is just a by-product of burning carbon fuel). That engine is just dirty enough to show no resent work/cleaning and no severe leaks...just the way I like to see them when I am buying....I think you snagged a good one... Of course there are lots of Tests you can do to confirm.... 1. An Oil Lab Test is a good thing to do .. 2 .. a Manual oil Pressure test , is also good to confirm healthy engine bearings, 3.. a Blow-by Test will confirm healthy Rings/Cylinders/ Piston ...4.. a BoreScope Test of Bank 2 - to get a visual of the Cylinders should always be done on any M96...
