Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used Weissach also for mine www.weissach.com They were great to do business with.

Suggestion
I will definitely try that next opportunity, yet I recall feeling compelled to use ball of foot on brake pedal and heel on gas pedal because the brake pedal seemed set high and to the left in comparison to the gas pedal.
Leading evidence: 'Use weissach also' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set high' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thanks for the pics. My C4S is on order, but having test driven several '03s, i didn't like the replationship of the brake pedal and the gas pedal for heal and toe. Do you find any improvement using the Ruf pedals....(does that fall within the 1%)
Thanks, Kent
Kent, mine is a TipS, so I don't have to brake and shift...I just shift up and down at will
Because of the construction of the gas pedal (wider) and a bit higher, I would guess that it is a bit easier. They are expensive, however
Kent,
You may find that you have better luck with rolling the outside of your foot onto the gas pedal with the ball of your foot on the brake rather than a traditional heel toe technique.
The 996 pedals (brake to gas pedal coplanar positioning during braking) are positioned quite nicely for this purpose, as Doc Bundy mercifully pointed out to me when I was the PDE at Road Atlanta. When Doc did it, you would swear you were in a Tiptronic or SMG!
FWIW, I have the Cargraphic pedals and I just like the feel of the pedals over the rubber covers, and like Don said, they just look better.

I will definitely try that next opportunity, yet I recall feeling compelled to use ball of foot on brake pedal and heel on gas pedal because the brake pedal seemed set high and to the left in comparison to the gas pedal. My brother's 356 is marvelous in that the pedals are closer, there's more room to the right of the gas pedal for incumbered movement and height of brake is ideal when depressed hard to hit gas pedal with heel or outside of foot.
i'm sure we can do anything very well if practiced enough, but i was suprised that all of my cars up to this point of buying my first Porsche, the porsche feels less set up for heel and toe.
I'm anxious to try your suggestion. Thanks, Kent
Kent,
I too had problems when trying to heel/toe the first time in my 996. I'm not a professional by any means, but I have been driving a standard since I got my license, so I didn't think I was that bad!
The trick seems to be that once you are on the gas pedal fairly hard, it will pretty much be in the same plane as the gas pedal.
I guess the argument is that if you're not really on the brakes, then there is no reason for heel/toe; a simple right foot throttle blip would be sufficient.
It is still ball of foot on brake, outside of foot rolling over on gas and the whole thing seems to work well.
I actually do this in my Audi S4 (winter car), even though there is more room for a classical heel/toe.
I admit that the 996 wheel well is pretty tight compared to previous p-cars.
BTW, which pedals did you finally decide on?
Take care,
I agree with the height of the brake pedal to the gas pedal, but i'm noticing how close together the RUF pedals are to one another, seems like they would be a good bit better for heel/toe. Anyone have a pic of the factory installed pedals of an '03...since my car is in pieces at the factory?
Also agree that hard braking benefits heel and toe, but for just every day driving I still like to heel and toe...just because I can.
