Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My 996 had 24k miles and was super clean (had to relpace rear tires after 5k, $500).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am currently checking out a 99 911 C2, coupe. 44K miles, partial leather, trip computer package, traction control, upgrade stereo, 6 spd, sunroof, clean as a whistle. All service done at local dealer. Body is VERY clean, interior leather is about what you would expect for normal use. I plan on a PPI, but it looks good by my superficial inspection. Any ideas on what this should go for? Assuming PPI is clean, is $42K reasonable? Also, are there any areas (ie. problems) that I should watch for on the late model 99? All help appreciated. Steve R

Here are some Jan 03 ebay sales....all dealer sales Also, I noticed on Edmunds that the trade in values for 1999s are now well below 40K. Sorry for the formating! Good luck. I was watching a Yellow '99 C2 Cabriolet with 14K on eBay - first auction it didn't meet reserve at 40,699 high bid, then on relisting it sold at 49,995 (buy it now). Wow. This seems awfully cheap to me, has the market really fallen this much or is it just the Winter doldrums? Michael

POST 4Original post

I really only follow the ones that are in the low to mid price range so my list should not be considered 'representative' of all 1999 996 sales.

POST 5Original post

Steve, - Rear Main Engine Seal - Oil leak from bottom and side (driver side) driver engine cover - Clutch Wear *you can ask me how to test that!* Otherwise, am sure PPI should go through the above and more! \\W// 996C299 6sp

POST 6Original post

Hey Steve, I paid 45k for my 99 coupe in Oct. Mine sounds simular to this one in terms of equipment. My 996 had 24k miles and was super clean (had to relpace rear tires after 5k, $500). I felt my price was 5 to 7k better than local dealers around DC that had 99 coupes with 33k-38k miles. I bought mine from a wholesaler, Larry Williams out of PA. Nice guy. 42k seems a bit high for that kind of mileage. http://www.hilinewholesaler.com/ Good luck!
