Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I'm sure many of you have been here before, so maybe you know the best way to see your way through the waiting period with your sanity intact. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

POST 2Original post

I have been through it twice. Once in 1999 waited 5 months for the boxster "S" to arrive and again last year waiting for the C4S to hit North America (wait only lasted 2 months until Feb 8, 2002). I spent a great deal of my down time in the bookstores reading a ton of articles and such. Showing the photos to anyone that would give me 5 or 10 minutes of their time. It was like being in kindegarten again during show and tell time. Beyond that it is just like waiting for a new born to arrive - Get her room ready (garage) - Get her toys, clothes, baby care products, etc. - (detailing supplies) I highly recommend the autopia car care forum for high-end detailing advice. Also, properperautocare.com has mostly everything you need to properly car for your new baby. Spending time at these sites is very productive and helps the time fly by. Lastly, you can purchase a small scale model of your vehicle and practice your waxing techniques on the little guy when your detaliing supplies come in. If I sound a little nuts its because I am. It's what worked for me .

POST 3Original post

Yes, the wait is agonizing. My wife bought me NFS for Playstation 2 and said something about needing a pacifier to stop crying. . .my 2003 C4S build date is currently January 28th.

POST 4Original post

Why don't you sign up for a one day deal at the Porsche driving Experience? What you should have done was to tell your dealer that you weren't going to buy from him unless he springs for a day event with the company. I am sure that the dealer would have done that for you, or at least go halfway with you on it.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys! The model is sitting on my desk as we speak, I have Paul Frere's book on the 911 on order, I'm finalizing dates for PDE, trying to figure out which digital camera to buy, making sure I have copies of all articles on the C4S I can find, thinking about vanity plates, etc, etc... One final question: Stonguard or 3M equivalent. Dealer says "don't do it" but others have recommended it. Opinions? Anyone of you have it and NOT like it?

POST 7Original post

Chef Frere's book is good others: Porsche by Peter Van (the 50th Anniv book) Excellence was Expected Porsche Story by Julius Weittman Going Faster LeMans (The best racing movie ever made, and the world's most boring movie to any non-fan - ie spouses) French Kiss with Death book about the making of Le Mans And by all means do the PDE.

POST 8Original post

IMHO Armourfend or Stonegard is only worth it on a silver or grey car.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
