Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

During a recent long trip, after just changing the oil I noticed the oil pressure running at the limit (just above 5 bars) @ 3-4k rpm. Can anyone say where their oil pressure runs at speeds above 75mph (cruising)? Owners manual says normal is 5000 rpm should be aprox. 3.5 bar.

POST 2Original post

It's very easy and it's very dangerous coz you end up busting your rear main seal (like most of us here including myself) You have a guage on the dash: make sure that it shows at most one level below the maximum.. Dont fill it to maximum or above the line of maximum. The reading of 4bars+ when hot and crusing speed is ok. Dont forget that the reading when cold is going to always hit 5bars maximum until the oil heats up, so that's normal. Wael
