Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyway the trick now is to get a dealer or someone with the tool to set the computer correctly.

If you had a PST2 then you set the computer into thinking the bar is installed.

If you will be using a child seat there is a special device that needs to be installed by your dealer (Porsche Child Restraint System).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know this has been discussed but through the search function I can find no concrete answers. I have a couple of small boys who love to ride around town with me in the front. What is the best, only?, way to disarm the front bags?

If you will be using a child seat there is a special device that needs to be installed by your dealer (Porsche Child Restraint System). The PST2 must also be used to deactivate the air bag(s) when the device is used. This device when buckled in causes the air bag(s) to not activate.
If you want the TSB for Installation of the Porsche Child Restraint System send me your email address (privately) and I will email it to you.
The correct way as Loren said is with the deactivation bar that comes with the child seat.
But. If you had a PST2 then you set the computer into thinking the bar is installed. Then look under your passenger seat and find the connector with 2 wires. You jump the wires with the correct resistor. Jeff
I got the file, thank you. I am not sure, but I doubt a resistor is necessary as this circuit is not measuring a load, but just sensing open or closed circuit. Anyway the trick now is to get a dealer or someone with the tool to set the computer correctly.
Thanks for the help, I am part way there.

I called Porsche regarding this issue awhile back. I was inquiring about my 8 year old riding in my RS America which has no back seat. They recomended that you just make certain you keep the seat back and the seat belt tight. This whole issue seems to have blown over.
Look if he's 8 year like mine, no need to disarm or anything. I'm using a house furniture pillow that raises him about 6inches and he has the belt on like any adult.. more like the Volvo rear child seat.
..of course, my wife doesnt know a pillow is missing, yet!
